Team Cole: Choosing Time Fun in Reception

Our Reception children have settled beautifully into their new classrooms and are really enjoying exploring the different areas set up for them to play, plan and learn in. During choosing time, the children have been busy building, creating, role-playing and investigating – all with big smiles and lots of excitement!

Play is such an important part of early learning. Through play, children develop their language, social skills and imagination, as well as building confidence and independence. It also helps them to practise problem-solving, learn to work together and try out new ideas in a fun and safe way.

It has been wonderful to see how engaged the children are, and we can’t wait to watch their learning journeys continue to grow throughout the year.
