Marvellous Me: Celebrating What Makes Us Unique!

It's ok to be different!!

As part of our Marvellous Me topic, we've been exploring how we are all similar in some ways, but also wonderfully different. We read the story Elmer the Patchwork Elephant, which helped us think about what it means to be unique. In the story, Elmer wants to be the same as everyone else, but he soon realises that being different is what makes him special—and loved!

To celebrate our own differences, each child coloured a square of a big Elmer according to their hair colour. When we put all the pieces together, we talked about how amazing Elmer looked with all the beautiful, varied colours—just like our class! It was a fun and meaningful way to see how our differences come together to make something truly special.
