Perfect Patterns in Reception!

PATTERNS EVERYWHERE
This week, our Reception children have been busy exploring repeating patterns—and they've had so much fun doing it! Outside, they worked together to create big, bold patterns using crates and bricks, carefully arranging them in an AB pattern (like crate, brick, crate, brick…). Inside, we brought a bit of autumn magic into our learning by using conkers, leaves, and pinecones to make beautiful natural patterns.
We’ve been focusing on simple AB patterns, which means two items repeating over and over again. You can practise this at home too—use socks, spoons and forks, toys, or even snacks! Can your child make a repeating pattern and explain it to you?
