Same or Different? Team Piper Know!

Maths in Team Piper...
Today in Team Piper we had lots of fun in our maths lesson learning all about matching! The children worked with picture cards and practised spotting what was the same and what was different.
We talked about how pictures can represent real objects and used our new key vocabulary: same, different, match. The children used sentence stems like “The car matches the car” and “They are different” to explain their thinking.
The main activity was very exciting, the children took turns turning over picture cards. If they found two that were the same, they shouted “Match!” and placed their hands on the cards. If they turned over two different cards, they proudly said “Different!”. This helped us practise careful looking and quick thinking!
We were so impressed with how confidently the children used their new maths vocabulary and spotted pairs – well done Team Piper!
