What Helps Me Sleep? 🌙

Today in Team Piper, we explored why sleep is so important and thought about all the things that help us to relax and get ready for bedtime.
We began by talking about how sleep helps our bodies grow, keeps our brains healthy, and makes us feel happy and ready to learn. The children shared some fantastic ideas about what helps them fall asleep, from cuddly teddies and bedtime stories to cosy blankets and calm music.
To help us feel sleepy and relaxed, we took part in some lovely calm activities. We had quiet colouring time, looked at some books, and even tried out some lavender-scented bowls of water to relax our hands (not quite a bath but you get the idea!) it smelled amazing and made the classroom feel so calm and peaceful! 💜
To end our session, we had a class nap! The lights were low, an audiobook played softly in the background, and everyone had a little rest. Mrs Piper even got to read a few pages of her own book too, a lovely bonus moment of quiet (it didn't last long!)
What a peaceful and dreamy afternoon in Team Piper! 💚
💤 How you can support this learning at home:
You could talk together about your child’s bedtime routine and what helps them feel calm before sleep. Reading a story, listening to soft music, or having a quiet chat about their day can all help them relax. Try turning off screens before bed and creating a cosy, calm space — just like we did in class!
