Pencil Grips at the Ready… It’s Handwriting Time!
Team Piper have now started our daily handwriting sessions! Each day, just before lunch, we’ll be focusing on the formation of our letters to help build confidence, accuracy and pride in our writing.
We’re using the Read Write Inc. letter formation phrases to support the children as they write. These fun little sayings help them remember exactly how to form each letter — for example, “Round the apple and down the leaf” for a, or “Down Nobby and over his net” for n.
The children have already enjoyed practising and we can’t wait to see how their letter shapes improve over the next few weeks. Why not ask your child to show you how they write some letters at home?
