Representing Numbers 0–5

Counting, clapping and showing numbers in different ways.
Today we were learning how to represent numbers 0–5. We practised reading each number, counting carefully and recognising numbers without counting.
At home, you can support this by putting the numbers 0–5 into a small bag or by representing numbers with your fingers. Take out one number at a time and ask your child to show that number in different ways.
For example, if you pull out 2, your child could do 2 claps, take 2 giant steps or find 2 small objects.
Steps to follow:
Step one Read the number
Step two Represent the number with claps
Step three Represent the number using actions or objects
Keep the activity short, playful and fun to build confidence with numbers.
