Our First Week in Year 1

What an amazing first week it has been in Year One! We’ve settled back into school life as though we’ve never been away, and the classroom is already buzzing with energy and learning.

This week we’ve enjoyed a wide variety of activities. In PE, art and music we’ve been moving, creating and making lots of joyful noise! In maths, we’ve been busy counting groups and sorting objects, practising our number skills in fun and practical ways.

As part of Personal Development Week, we’ve been learning about Our Wonderful World and reflecting on our school value of Kindness; thinking about how we can show kindness to ourselves, to each other and to the world around us.

One of the highlights of the week has definitely been choosing time, especially the chance to explore and play on the climbing frame.
