Year 1 Detectives on the Case!

Something very mysterious happened in Year 1… our hat went missing! When we came into class, we found a crime scene waiting for us. There were lots of clues to investigate – a coffee cup with lipstick on it, a Numicon trail, and even some lipstick left behind.

We studied the evidence carefully and looked at pictures of the suspects including Mrs Piper, Miss Norman, Mr Bruhn-Cilas and Miss Amin. We became real detectives, thinking about who might have taken the hat. The most suspicious person turned out to be Miss Amin – in her photo she was wearing red lipstick and even had a piece of Numicon in her hand!

After following all the clues, we solved the mystery… Miss Amin had stolen our hat! 🕵️‍♂️🎩

We had so much fun being detectives and using our clues to make predictions. Now, we’re using everything we’ve learned to write our own stories inspired by Jon Klassen (author of I Want My Hat Back). We can’t wait to share them soon!
