A Wonderful Day at Wonderworks!

We had a fantastic trip to Hornby’s Hobbies WonderWorks, which linked perfectly to STEAM Week and our topic “Playing: Past and Present.”

We had the opportunity to play with Scalextric and explore lots of other amazing toys made by Hornby, including model trains and cars. We loved seeing how these toys work and noticing all the tiny details that make them look so realistic.

During our visit, we also learnt how toys have changed over time and how design and technology help make them move. We spotted gears, tracks, wheels and motors, and started to understand how these parts help toys function. It was exciting to see how ideas from the past have inspired the toys we still enjoy today.

We had such a fun, hands-on day and came back to school full of ideas and excitement!
