Christmas has arrived at RAPS!

Year 2 are absolutely loving drawing their own Hundertwasser-inspired towns, filling the room with bright colours, wiggly lines, lots of laughter and showcasing their school value of creativity!  We cannot wait to finish them next week. Ask us all about it! 

We have been busy writing suspense narratives in Yr 2. Yesterday, we finished our narratives based on The Legend of Black Rock. The children then collaboratively edited these stories by correcting eachother's spellings and sentence structure. The children enjoyed being the teacher and marking work onto post-it notes. 

In the next few days, our published work will appear on display in the classroom. Ask your child to see their work!

As part of our topic all about the natural and human world, we worked together to identify some well-known landmarks from around the world. We matched the pictures to the names and countries of places around the globe, including exciting places

Lines and scripts have been sent home for the Christmas Play. Please practise these at home. If your child loses their script, please let your teacher know and they will print you a new copy.

Year 2 tried out the new KS1 iPads today. We discussed aspects of digital citizenship regarding the appropriate use of iPads in our school. We talked about when, how and where it is OK to take photographs. Then we learnt how to resize, save, caption and use filters to edit our photos.
