We explored Minnie Evans’ detailed drawings, noticing the repeating patterns, nature themes, and imaginative designs she used. The children created their own drawings inspired by her style, carefully adding shapes and patterns. We also looked at Henri Matisse, thinking about how his artwork changed over time. Published 24/02/26, by Joshua CialisOur Year 2 children arrived at school to discover something incredible — a mysterious spaceship had crash-landed on the school field! The shiny wreckage, scattered “space rocks,” and strange footprints sparked instant excitement and curiosity. The children became space explorers, investigating clues and writing brilliant questions about its alien pilot. Who was on board? Where had it come from? Why did it land here? Throughout the term, the crash will inspire creative writing, teamwork, and imaginative role-play. What an unforgettable way to launch our new English text — learning truly blasted off in Year 2!
