STEAM Week at Ramsgate Arts – Week Beginning 2nd February
Our annual Road Safety Workshop! We learnt about what to look out for when we are on the roads, who are safe adults are, top tips for staying safe when crossing or waiting to cross and even different types of crossings! Why not ask us as we really are turning into road safety experts!
Inspired by Lola, we tried some new foods. We tried: tomatoes, black olives, red Leicester cheese, cantaloupe melon and limes. We orally planned sentences to describe the flavours and textures. We enjoyed being resilient and trying some new things.
Ask us what we enjoyed and didn't like so much!
What a fun Maths lesson we had this morning making and talking about the properties of different 2D shapes! Ask us all about it! We have been learning about sides and vertices and about what makes a shape... a shape!

This term, our new topic ‘Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds’ involves learning about how to keep ourselves healthy and happy! For our Art to Start, we explored the works of Giuseppe Arcimboldo who used fruit, vegetables and other objects in his artwork. Inspired by these and by our growing knowledge of what a portrait is, we used fresh fruit and vegetables to create our own self-portraits in the style of Arcimboldo! Take a look at us in action! Best of all, we got to eat our work after and try some vegetables like lettuce, lemons and peppers!
Recognising 2D and 3D shapes
Kent Fire and Rescue visited RAPS this morning to deliver an engaging and extremely important safety talk. We played Spot the Hazard, identifying risks at home and school and even learnt three simple steps to keep safe and act wisely if there were ever a fire! Did you know we should be checking our smoke alarms once a week?! Ask us all about it!
