An adaptive narrative of Anthony Browne's 'Into the forest'

This week we have been writing up our adapted narrative based on Anthony Browne's 'Into the forest'.

The children have really sunk their teeth into this piece of writing and have risen to the challenge of beginning to understand and use direct speech, focusing on inverted commas within their work.

A catchy song we've been using to help us remember is The Direct Speech Song (Inverted Commas)

Have a look at them, brainstorming what each character might say in our story.

What would the 3 little pigs say?

What could the ugly duckling say?

What would the gingerbread man say?
