Term 2 Art to Start - Team Hayzelden

Today we began our new topic by looking at images of the Aurora Borealis created by the artist Sophus Tromholt. We then used pastels to recreate this, focusing on using the colours pink, green, blue and purple. First, we drew sharp outlines before smudging these to create our artwork.  

Everybody in Team Hayzelden loved this activity. Here are some of the things the children had to say about it:

Bonnie: "I liked drawing the aurora borealis"

Theo: "I liked rubbing in the pastels to create patterns"

Delilah: "I liked all of the colours!"
