Love to Learn TO

In Term 2, we are learning about electricity. Have fun learning about electricity at home with these easy activities — you’ll explore how it works, where it comes from, and how to stay safe while using it!

Due in Friday 12th December

Please select 1 or 2 of the following tasks to complete.

💡 1. Electricity Hunt Around the Home

Make a checklist of all the things in your home that use electricity. Sort them into mains-powered and battery-powered.

⚙️ 2. Design an Energy-Efficient Home

Draw or label a picture of a “dream home” that uses electricity wisely — solar panels, energy-saving bulbs, smart heating, etc.

⚡ 3. Imagine Life Without Electricity

Write or draw what a day would be like if there was no electricity at all — no lights, fridge, TV, phone, or computer!
Extension: Create a “before and after” picture showing one scene with electricity and one without.

🔋 4. Create an Electricity Safety Poster or Comic Strip

Make a colourful poster or comic strip showing how to stay safe around electricity (e.g. no water near plugs, don’t overload sockets, don’t touch wires).

💭 5. Electricity Detectives – Where Does It Come From?

Research (or discuss) how electricity is made — power stations, wind turbines, solar panels, etc. Then draw a simple map showing the journey of electricity from source to home.
Extension: Label renewable and non-renewable energy sources.
