Cummins Trip!
Year 4 really enjoyed their visit to the Cummins company at the start of STEAM Week. We began with a tour of the building where engineers work and even got to see their games room.
We learnt and practised important skills such as teamwork, problem-solving and creativity. We used these skills to design and build our own solar-powered robots, testing our ideas and making improvements. We also applied these skills to build Marble runs out of junk modelling!
The engineers showed us a 3D printer and explained how it works and why it is useful for engineers. We also learnt how virtual reality (VR) can be used to help with the design process. One of the highlights was seeing a real engine and learning how it works.
It was a great experience and a fun way to start STEAM Week.
