Beat the Flood challenge

The children have been busy taking part in the Beat the Flood challenge, where they designed and produced their own flood-proof houses.

Using their understanding of flooding and engineering, pupils planned, designed, and constructed model houses that could withstand rising water levels. They carefully selected materials, thought about structure and stability, and discussed how design features such as raised floors, barriers, and strong foundations could help protect homes during floods.

Throughout the challenge, the children worked creatively and collaboratively, solving problems as they arose and refining their designs. There was lots of thoughtful discussion, teamwork, and excitement as their ideas came to life.

We are really looking forward to testing the houses tomorrow to see how well they stand up to the flood challenge. It has been fantastic to see the children so engaged and enthusiastic as young designers and engineers.
