In our English sessions, we have been researching the charity 'Barnardo's', which links beautifully with our core text 'Street Child', before beginning the writing on Thursday...
After getting lots of notes from various sources and then organising and grouping them, we began to write our own information text on the founding and work undertaken by this fabulous charity.
Dr Thomas Barnardo founded his charity after a chance meeting with a young boy on the streets of Victorian London - Jim Jarvis - who is the main character in our class text! Over the next few days at school, we shall continue the writing process, before editing and publishing the finished piece into our writing journals.
