Victorian Britain

Having spent the first half of our topic looking at crime and punishment throughout history, we have now switched focus to life in the Victorian era...
Over the past week, we have looked at how everyday life was incredibly different for children depending on whether they resided in poor or rich households. We then looked at some of the jobs that children fulfilled in coal mines and then began researching the monarch, Queen Victoria, herself.
Next week, we will look at what the Industrial Revolution was, some of the effects of this great upheaval and one of the most famous Victorians - Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
