Class Assembly People of the Past
1. Kamsavy Welcome to Team Rees-Boughton’s class assembly!
2. Sienna In this topic Miss Rees -Boughton has been teaching us all about People of the Past. Talk to your partner, how many do you know?
3. Scarlett W - Let’s hear some of your ideas! (Choose children)
4. Willow For our entry point we had a fun dress up day. We came dressed as people of the past and we had a fashion show to show everyone our awesome costumes. Have a look! (Pictures)
5. Henry We compared two very different explores Tim Peake and Christopher Columbus.
6. Morgan We found out that Tim Peak became and astronaut and that he is British
7. George We also researched the famous scientist Isaac Newton.
8. Honey Did you know that Isaac Newton is one of the most important scientists in history!
9. Amelia Yes! We found out that he discovered the theory of gravity all through the use of apples!
10. Gracie And he invented the reflective telescope!
11. Petra And the laws of motion!
12. Miley His mother wanted him to work on a farm. But he wanted to go to school! He wanted to learn!
13. Everyone Wow he was very clever indeed!
14. Scarlett B In art we have been finding out about what we can learn from a portrait such as what they do for a living.
15. Dahlia We studied portraits by different artists.
16. Lucy Y We then drew our own portraits of our friends. (hold up some books of children’s work Henry, Zofia and Morgan).
17. Morgan Sorry about your crazy hair Oscar.
18. Beth During a lesson with Miss Samson we learnt how to create a timeline based on Florence Nightingale.
19. Oscar Did you know she played an important role in our History?
20. Luci She is one of the main reasons why we have nurses today; she was a very kind and Brave lady!
21. Remi Please watch our short play about Florence Nightingale. (Children to act a scene where Florence Nightingale goes to the Workhouse and demands that children should have fruit). Oscar, Remi Megan
Megan - Sir how often do these children get fresh fruit? (point to Remi)
Oscar - Maam They get fresh fruit once a year and that is Christmas day!
Megan- This is simply not good enough! Children should have fresh fruit available to them every day to encourage good health.
