How We Live

Today, we introduced our new Topic which is all about our human bodies and how we live! To get the children thinking about links to previous learning, we brainstormed all of the things we know about our bodies! How fabulous that we were able to explain key vocabulary and processes like oesophagus, diaphragm, incisors and digestion! For our Art to Start, we are going to be doing some observational drawings so we spent the latter part of our afternoon exploring some of the fabulous skulls, feet and teeth that Mrs Fox owns hands on! We looked at the skulls of a horse, sheep and duck and even looked at the jaws of a goat and used some important words like herbivore, omnivore, talon and canines during discussions! This will link to our vertebrate and invertebrate learning later in this Topic. What a super afternoon!
