Measurement
What should we use to measure?
This week in Team Spurrier we have been learning how to measure length and height. We started the week by using non-standard units such as, paper clips and hands and feet for larger items. Then we movest onto standard forms of measurements and we made our own rulers out of 1cm coloured squares. This was really fiddly and we had to be really precicse but it really helped us to visualise what 1cm looks like and helped us to use the language. Finally, we used onto using rulers and measuring things around the classroom. We knew that we needed to get the ruler the right way around, have it flat against the object, line the starting position up with the 0cm and finally measure the object. We were so good at this.
