As follow up to the recent visit to the Houses of Parliament, the children have been looking at the British Value of ‘democracy’ and what this means. We learned the difference between democracy and a dictatorship and have considered how and why democracy works. This has then been applied to the children’s own environment and we discussed how we can utilise this understanding to create our own School Council. The children have been working towards a vision statement, a name, the make-up and timetable.
