English

This week’s English has centred around developing our vocabulary (e.g looking at exciting adjectives and sentence openers) and exploring the fantastic illustrations in our core text, ‘Into the Forest’ by Anthony Browne. There have also been some super, dramatic interpretations of different sections of the text, demonstrating some brilliant collaboration within our classroom.

Our focus this week for Writing has been to use different types of sentence openers and adjectives and to develop expanded noun phrases whilst describing different settings based on our book's illustrations. We have now finished reading 'Into the Forest' and the children completed their book reviews on Friday morning before writing their final, extended setting description.

Well done to everyone for putting in so much effort this week with all of their English activities! I was particularly impresssed with how many fairy tale references you all spotted within the illustrations!
