RAPS Cultural Diversity Day

Travelling to New Zealand, Brazil and China...

Today, Team Amin took part in our RAPS Cultural Diversity Day which is a wonderful celebration of the different cultures and traditions that exist all across our world. Our day started off superbly with a whole school Music assembly which involved drums, tambourines and lots of clapping to a beat. This was followed by visits to three different countries, with children from Team Beraet and Team Todd, where the children were able to learn about part of the country's culture and at each stop on their journey, every child had their own RAPS passport to track their visits. In China, Team Amin learnt about the relevance of dragons in traditional Chinese Art and had a go at producing their own dragon-based art using watercolours. In New Zealand, they learnt all about and performed the Haka dance and finally, in Brazil, they explored Brazilian dance, music and martial art forms by learning about dances such as the 'Capoeira' dance. From their comments, Team Amin seem to have really enjoyed their day which is absolutely fantastic and they have even been teaching me all about the things that they have learnt. What a super day!
