3D Shapes and Patterns

Where can you find 3d shapes?

This week we have been looking at 3D shapes. We know that a 3D shape is different to a 2D shape as you can pick it up. We learnt about the faces, vertices, edges and curved surfaces. We learnt about cubes, cuboids, cones, spheres and cones, and we were able to relate this to everyday objects. We loved going on shape hunts and seeing if they roll, stack and slide.

Later in the week we went back to exploring repeating patterns. We are getting so good at these and can spot where our pattern is and then make it repeat as many times as we like. We started with simple AB patterns and some of us were able to create more complex patterns such as AABC too. We were even able to spot the mistake in some too!
