Bug club

Please see below a copy of a letter that will be sent home in your child's book bag this week! If you have any trouble accessing bug club please let us know. It has been great to see so many children reading at home, please remember to read at least 4 times a week at home :)

10th September 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

We have been assessing the children over this week in preparation for their Read, Write Inc groupings and to make sure they are on the correct take-home reading books. However, if you find the books your child has been given are too easy or difficult do let us know.

Your children’s reading folders will be checked and stamped every time they bring it back into school and they will be given a new book to take home. It is helpful to us if you have comments about how your child enjoyed their book (or not!) to write them in their record. Then we can respond to you every Friday. Therefore, even if you have not finished reading your book, please can you ensure your child’s reading record and book is brought into school every Friday. Thank you!

You will find your child’s Bug Club login in their reading record. You can use the login to access books online (on the Active Learn website https://www.activelearnprimary.co.uk)

The Bug Club books are allocated to complement their assessed reading level and they make a fun addition to their reading books. Comprehension is a vital part of enjoying reading and each Bug Club book has bug questions to test your child’s understanding of the books they read which the children find very enjoyable.

Bug Club books read also count towards your Reading Race to 100!

In addition to the reading scheme books sent home, your child is welcome to choose books from the book corner or our school library to borrow and these also count towards the Reading Race!

If you have any questions or problems accessing Bug Club do ask.
