Year 2 will be visiting the shop on Wednesday 8th December so please ensure your child has the correct money for anything they want to buy on that day (and that day only).
We're getting ready for our dress rehearsal of Gnome Alone!
Please bring your child's costume for the performance into school on Monday 6th December. It should be in a bag with your child's name written clearly on the bag as well as the costume itself.
There wasn't a huge amount of time to practise our spellings this week so we'll test for last week's spellings on Monday 29th.
Rehearsals for our production are underway and the children are very enthusiastic!
We'd be grateful if you could find some time to practise singing the songs to help the children memorise them in time for the performance. Attached to this post are the song lyrics with the links to each song. Just copy and past the link that is underneath the title of each song into your browser and click the 'play' icon.
Please see attached sheet for this week's spellings. Have a lovely weekend!
A huge thank you to those parents who were able to come in to school to support the children with Art to Start last week. The results were absolutely stunning and the children loved creating their own sculptures inspired by Andy Goldsworthy.
Also thank you to Mrs Vost for providing us with another fantastic and exciting art lesson!
Well done to those of you who have brought in your Love to Learn homework already. It has been lovely to see your creativity!
A reminder that you are asked to produce a sculpture made from natural materials inspired by land artist Andy Goldsworthy. Please photograph your work, print the photos and either stick them in your Love to Learn book or bring them into school to show your class.
Please bring this in no later than Friday 26th November.
Thank you to those eagle-eyed parents who called our attention to the fact that the costumes list was missing from the letter sent out on Friday and that the date of the performance had a typo. This was an admin error and we're sorry for any confusion. The letter as been sent out again, this time with the costume list attached.
Year 2 are excited to be doing a Christmas production of 'Gnome Alone'! Your child will have come home with their part of the script on Friday. Please help your child to learn their lines, preferably by Monday 29th November. This will make it easier when we begin rehearsing our performance.
Please see the spellings for this week attached below.
On Friday, we had an Environmental Day, we spent the day thinking about our environment, learning about climate change and COP26. We had an assembly with Thanet District Council about littering and discussed things we could do as a class and as individuals to be more environmentally friendly. In the afternoon we joined Mrs Vost to take part in the Cummins Washing Line Sculpture competition where we designed sculptures using items of clothing or material.
