Super Learning Fun for RAPS’ Superheroes

Step aside Batman, Wonderwoman and Spiderman – there’s a new band of superheroes to lead the way if young children at Ramsgate Arts Primary have anything to do with it.
The Reception year group were challenged to create their own superhero outfit and wear it to school – and the range of imaginative ideas were amazing.
Pupils had carefully considered what their world-changing powers could be and how they could best use them to help others.
They included Garbage Girl, who helps keep the planet clean by recycling; Nature Girl, a protector of bees and the environment; and Super Thomas, who zooms around at lightning speed to help those in need. Each superhero had a story to tell and a mission to complete.
The action-packed day began with a superhero parade, where the children proudly showcased their amazing costumes and explained their powers to their friends.
The fun continued with a range of superhero-themed activities: rescuing superheroes from ice – a mission of strength and strategy; mud kitchen – messy, imaginative fun creating superhero power-packed potions and meals; shadow drawing – a calm moment to trace the superhero shadows and explore light and shape; superhero obstacle course – testing agility, speed, and teamwork; small world and role play – bringing superhero stories to life with imagination and flair.
Reception teacher Louise Cole said: “The day was full of laughter, energy, and joy as the children truly embraced their superhero personas. From solving problems to showing kindness and bravery, each child proved that everyone has a superpower inside them.”
Head of School Nick Budge added: “Our children were so engaged in this imaginative way to help them explore and develop a range of skills through fun learning activities.”
Ramsgate Arts Primary is part of the Viking Academy Trust with its partner schools Chilton Primary in Ramsgate and Upton Juniors in Broadstairs.
