Feast of Frightful Fun at RAPS

Gloriously ghoulish goings-on saw creative and scary outfits in the spotlight as part of the spooktacular Halloween celebrations at Ramsgate Arts Primary.
The Reception year group celebrated a busy day of fun activities adorned in a variety of creatively scary costumes from witches and wizards to pumpkins and ghosts.
It began with a fashion show on the hall stage, where pupils proudly showed off their outfits to their friends, followed by a class party with music, games and party food, creating a lively and festive atmosphere.
The classroom and outdoor areas were filled with Halloween-themed activities, including jelly bug hunts hidden inside pumpkins, witches’ potions in the mud kitchen using natural ingredients and plenty of imagination, messy monster spaghetti play exploring textures and colours, spooky arts and crafts from ghost collages to pumpkin prints.

There were also shaving foam spider webs to explore texture and mark making, investigating the inside of a pumpkin and scooping out seeds and pulp, and decorating cupcakes to make pumpkin cakes.
Assistant Head of School Louise Chidwick-Day explained: “Children enjoyed exploring, creating and working together through these themed sensory and fine-motor activities.

“The celebrations continued into the afternoon with the Reception and Key Stage 1 disco, organised by the hard-working and supportive Parent Teacher Association, with music, dancing and fun games.
“The whole day linked to RAPS’ focus on joyful, creative learning experiences that bring the school community together.”
Ramsgate Arts Primary is part of the Viking Academy Trust with its partner schools Chilton Primary in Ramsgate and Upton Juniors in Broadstairs.
