School of Rock Star Inspires Pupils

West End star Bradley Bissett returned to his Thanet home area to inspire pupils at Ramsgate Free School with tales from his role in the hit musical School of Rock.

The youngsters, who play music regularly as part of their arts curriculum, quizzed Bradley, who plays James in the show, about his career so far and what it is like to be on a big stage in a top London production.

Arts teacher Nicole Mannings said: “Bradley is a local boy who has worked hard to successfully gain a top role. As an Arts Specialist School, seeing live theatre is part of our curriculum. It was even more inspiring for our children when Bradley visited them before the show.”

“He talked about the show, the audition process and he gave advice to our aspiring performers.”

“The children enjoyed a fabulous day in London, enjoying lunch while being entertained by street performers in Covent Garden.  They had opportunity to explore the area before heading to the New London Theatre.”

“School of Rock was absolutely show-stopping, fun, loud, creative and energetic. The children were totally engrossed from beginning to end, clapping along and dancing in their seats.”

“Meeting Bradley was a fantastic opportunity for them. He gave an outstanding performance and is inspiration to them all.  The children are buzzing having seen the show, they are inspired and enthusiastic to get back to the classroom to hone their own performance skills.”
