Pine cones

During our topic lessons, we have been learning about different ways we can predict and record the weather. We wanted to know whether pine cones could help us predict rain. We realised that when we wet, the pine cones, they closed up. We placed some outside and some inside overnight. We concluded that pine cones could help us predict if it is going to rain as they begin to close in damp conditions.
