Dinosaurs, Fossils, and a Big Roar for Jamie!

Digging Up the Past with Team Piper!
This week in Team Piper, we’ve been time-travelling back to when dinosaurs roamed the Earth! The children have been full of curiosity and excitement as we explored these amazing prehistoric creatures and discovered how we know about them today—through fossils.
We learnt that:
-
Dinosaurs lived millions of years ago.
-
Fossils are what’s left behind when plants or animals are buried and turn to stone.
-
People who find and study fossils are called palaeontologists (a very big word for us!)
The gardenturned into our very own dig site, where the children carefully brushed away sand to uncover pretend fossils and dinosaur bones. We matched different dinosaurs to their names and talked about which ones might have eaten plants or meat.
🦕 And we must give a huge shoutout to our dinosaur expert, Jamie! He amazed us all with his brilliant dinosaur knowledge, fantastic drawings, and even helped us pronounce some of the trickier dinosaur names. Well done, Jamie – Team Piper is very proud of you!
