Maths in Team Piper: Shape Learning

So far this week, Reception have been exploring shapes in two fun ways:

Step Three – Manipulating Shapes
Children used tangrams to rotate and fit shapes into picture templates, learning how shapes can change and still stay the same.

Step Four – Positional Language
We’ve also been using words like next to, behind, and under to describe where shapes are and guide friends through obstacle courses!

A great start to the week with lots of hands-on learning and shape talk!
