Exploring Islam During Personal Development Week

Personal Development Week- Islam
As part of our Personal Development Week, the children have been learning about different world religions—and this week, we focused on Islam.
We were incredibly lucky to welcome a special visitor, Abdou, a local Muslim imam, who shared his knowledge and experiences with us. He spoke to the children about important celebrations such as Ramadan and Eid. The children were especially interested to hear about fasting during Ramadan and the joyful celebrations that follow.
Abdou also brought along a selection of special items used in Islamic worship and daily life. The children had the opportunity to see and discuss objects such as prayer mats, the Qur’an, traditional clothing, and prayer beads. It was a fantastic, hands-on way to explore another culture and faith.
We’re proud of how respectful, curious, and engaged the children were during the visit. Learning about different beliefs helps us grow into more understanding and inclusive individuals—something we value deeply at our school.
Thank you to Abdou for making the session so informative and meaningful!
