What changes will I face?

An overview of our Citizenship lesson in Personal Development week !

During our Citizenship lesson we spoke about the changes we face in life, how these changes can make us feel and how we can prepare ourselves for change.

Naturally, the biggest change due to come to Team Bullard is their progression into Year 5, we spoke about how we can prepare and how being prepared helps to transform our feelings into a useful productive energy.

We accept that change is a natural part of life and that it is OK to feel all sorts of feelings when this happens.

We played a short sorting game where we looked at what was in and out of our control. Discussions were had around what we should do if we start to worry about something that is out of our control.

The pupils worked really well to understand that if you worry about something that is in your control, then you have the power to change and prepare. However, if for example, we worry about war, then this worry does not serve us as it does not make us feel good, and it does not help anybody else for us to feel this way.

At the end of the lesson, we then wrote down changes that we face individually and ways we can prepare/deal with change, such as talking to others who've already had this happen to them, taking things one day at a time and changing our mindsets to see the exciting new opportunities that lay ahead !
