We had our first oral storytelling lesson today. The children collectively wrote the story and I guided them a little (away from some quite gruesome endings for the dragon involving a variety of weapons). After that, to my surprise, the children chose a non vigilante route and decided to phone the police!
Last week we had our first PE lesson with Miss McCormack. She loved being with Team Jones and said that the class played a game about beans. We also made an obstacle course in the garden and crawled and climbed our way through it with Mr O'neill.
As you may know, our topic this month is 'Marvellous me'. This week we have learnt about our homes, our family and our friends among other things (ask your children if they can remember any of the details Mr Jones shared about himself). Our display for the topic is almost done. If you have yet to bring in your Gingerbread man or All about me sheets we would love to have them to make our display even more special!
Team Jones
The Internet has been full of rumours since the delay of Team Jones's long anticipated first single which was meant to be released last Friday. As Mr Jones has put his artistic differences (with his blog's sign in and post function) aside, finally Team Jones's first single 'We are the Dinosaurs' will be released on RAPS recordings.
We have been doing some amazing singing and the whole group has learnt the song brilliantly. I have been so impressed with everyone's singing and ability to learn the song so quickly. We have also been singing lots of nursery rhymes and will start to learn a new song next week.

Dear Team Jones,
We had an amazing first day; we introduced ourselves to the class, explored our learning environment, played a game of fruit salad, read Come Rhyme With Me and Splat the Cat and did some funky dancing! We have started to mount the Marvellous Me display so if you have a gingerbread man at home please bring it in (if you need a new template please ask) and if you would like, you can still design a name badge that we will turn in to a badge this week. Hi Team Jones,
We hope you have had a lovely summer. We are excited to welcome you to school on Monday and hear all about your summer. The classroom is prepped (see picture below) for your arrival and your names are already on the wall above your book bag boxes. We would like to remind you to bring in your gingerbread man and 'all about me' sheets with you on Monday.
We can't wait to see you and start our learning journey together!
