Sports day
Sports day was brilliant today, the children did amazingly, and it was very impressive to watch them take part in every activity, it was even more impressive to see the parents bring a much more competitive atmosphere to the tug of war!

Kent council visited us recently to teach us about road safety, specifically, how to cross the road. The children did a great job and have enjoyed practising crossing the road safely on our bike track.
We have been learning about our community, and we recently learnt about how recycling and looking after the area we live in is important. The children did some amazing work and confidently sorted their recycling in to the correct bins.
Thank you to everybody who has come in to help decorate our outside wheels. We have reused lots of materials to make our outside area look incredible!
On Friday this week, the children in Team Malone (the green house) will bring in their objects for show and tell. Please bring the objects in, in the morning and give them to Mr. Jones. The objects should not be toys, but rather objects with a story or objects which the child has created. If you are not sure which house your child is in, look at the basket they put their reading folder in, and it will show you the colour of their house. Their reading folder will also have the colour of their house along the zip.

We tried some new exotic fruits! We tried mango, pomegranate and passion fruit! The children loved the mango, liked but were hesitant of the pomegranate and though that the passion fruit looked like some alien substance from another dimension, some tried it and loved it though!
We learnt about healthy food, eating in moderation and then made fruit kebabs!

We had an amazing time during our CDG awareness day, check out some photos below!

This week in topic we are looking at healthy foods. Today we looked at what foods are healthy and unhealthy. This proved to be quite difficult as even some healthy foods are unhealthy in large amounts. We learnt the term 'in moderation' and discussed that all foods are okay to eat but always in moderation. We will look at a healthy recipe tomorrow, talking about instructions and the key features of a recipe. At home, you could cook a healthy meal together or discuss what is and isn't healthy.
This week we are looking at doubling. Today we looked at pairs, specifically, matching pairs. We found matching pairs of numeral and then introduced the term 'doubling'. If you want to practice doubling at home, you can sing the doubling song we are singing every day!
