Top Secret Delivery: Meet the Mini Beasts!

Today,  Team Piper embarked on a creepy-crawly adventure as we discovered the fascinating world of mini beasts—and it all started with a mysterious box labeled “Top Secret: From the Mini Beasts!”

Inside, the children found magnifying glasses, toy bugs, and a special letter from the Mini Beasts themselves:With that, our young explorers were off on a Mini Beast Hunt, armed with clipboards and checklists. Indoors and out, they searched for creatures like worms, ladybirds, ants, and snails.

Along the way, we learned:

• A mini beast is a small, living creature.

• Mini beasts are invertebrates, which means…

• They don’t have a backbone!

Children loved using their magnifying glasses to take a closer look at nature’s tiny wonders and had fun ticking off each creature they found.

• Go on your own garden mini beast hunt – what can you find under a log or in the grass?

• Talk about which ones fly, crawl, or wriggle.

• Ask: “Do you think this has a backbone?” and “What makes it a mini beast?”
